Darren Wilkins, Managing Director at family run business, City Signs, joins the Worcestershire Ambassadors to support generations to come through encouraging investment and resources into Worcestershire.

Darren was born and raised in Worcestershire and owns City Signs, with his sister Deanne, which designs and installs signs for organisations across the County, and is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

City Signs specialises in creating designs that clearly define messages, direct people and vehicles, help visitors and boost business. Darren and the team pride themselves in using local suppliers and collaborating with local businesses to build strong long-lasting relationships. City Signs supply many local schools and colleges, and continue to give a cost-effective solution to help promote, enhance and attract individuals and businesses to the area.

Darren is an active member of the community and has committed to supporting many local causes over the years. Support has included organising fundraising events for New Hope Worcester Children’s Charity and charity golf days for the MS Society. In 2020, City Signs’ chosen charity is the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust and the team have set a target of raising £6,000 in their 60th year of trading.

The Worcestershire Ambassadors promote life in the county, helping to encourage inward investment and develop the area’s economic prosperity. The group, which was formed 18 years ago, also fundraises for a variety of local charities and good causes. In joining the Ambassadors, Darren pledges to encourage investment and resources into Worcestershire.

Presented with his welcome pack by Julia Williams, Chair of the Worcestershire Ambassadors, Darren said:
“It is a privilege to be selected as a Worcestershire Ambassador and I will continue to promote Worcestershire to encourage investment and resources into our county to support generations to come. I have a driving passion for making Worcestershire a hot spot for culture, entertainment, education and, of course, a unique place to live and work.”

Julia added: “We are pleased to welcome Darren as an ambassador. Darren has a well-established Worcestershire business and does much to help and support the community. We are looking to helping Darren celebrate City Signs 60th birthday this year!”
