A positive sign for the hospitality industry
Listed Under: News
As pubs, restaurants and hotels begin to reopen from 4th July with social distancing in place in the ongoing fight against coronavirus (COVID-19), we look at ways to maximise the impact of your return to trading.
The impact of coronavirus has had a massive impact on us all but none more so than the hospitality industry which were forced to close their doors from 23rd March. Although some businesses were quick to adapt with takeaway services to support the public during lockdown, many businesses have been unable to trade since the end of March. Getting prepared to reopen will help you hit the ground running to help your business recover as quickly as possible.
Up-to date-signage and printed material
Before you reopen check that all your signage is in a good condition and cleaned thoroughly. It might sound obvious but if your business looks unkept from the outside, customers might think you’re still closed. If you have any special offers to encourage customers to return make sure that they are clear to understand and fully branded on external signs and printed material. Double check all the content for typos and ensure your contact details are clearly displayed.
Tell customers you are back open
A quick and easy way to tell people you’re back open is through social media, external banners and flyer drops to the local area. Provide a promotional ‘hook’ to why they should visit you first. For example, a new menu and summer specials. Plus, it’s always important to provide details of what provisions you have put in place to safe guard your customers, including limited numbers per area, hand sanitisers in situ and what they should expect with regards face coverings.
Customers will be familiar with social distancing signage, screens and information, but each setting is different with individual risk assessments. A thorough policy for COVID-19 social distancing at your premises will ensure your customers will feel safe and relaxed and more likely to return in the future.
We are here to support you every step of the way, to help you with reopening your business and are highly experienced in what you need with regards to social distancing. You never get a second chance to make a first impression and City Signs will make sure you capitalise on every opportunity.
